Atlas Terms of Service

1. Introduction

1.1. We provide the Atlas cloud service to strengthen the country's technical infrastructure. We believe that access to secure and reliable hosting in Iceland should be easy.

1.2. We will work hard to keep the service running and stable.

1.3. You may use the Atlas cloud for any lawful purpose, but there are some ways you may never use the service.

1.4. If you violate these terms or help others (people or algorithms) do so, we may block your use of the service.

2. Privacy and Data Processing Agreement

2.1. We guarantee that data on the Atlas cloud is stored according to the best security requirements. More about that here https://runatlas.is/en/security-and-trust

2.2. We sometimes use third parties in providing the service (e.g., for payment gateways, incident logging, or specific network connections). We keep this to a minimum, we vet partners carefully, and we never share more information than necessary for the service to work.

2.3. Data Processing Agreement: By accepting these terms of service, you also accept the Atlas Data Processing Agreement, which governs all processing of personal data carried out on your behalf within the service. It is available here https://runatlas.is/en/data-processing-agreement

3. Payments and Billing

3.1. By registering and beginning to use the service, you agree that Atlas will collect payment for the service at the end of each month.

4. Your Actions Have Consequences

4.1. You understand that your actions and the content you host may have legal consequences and lead to criminal or civil liability. We do not support, take responsibility for, or accept liability for your use of the system.

5. What You May Not Do

5.1. You may not use, or help others to use, the Atlas cloud for any illegal or harmful purpose (e.g., hosting malware, conducting cyberattacks, or distributing illegal content).

5.2. You may not use, or help others to use, Atlas to disrupt the connections or security of networks, systems, or other users in an unlawful manner.

5.3. You may not use (or misuse) the system to intentionally cause disruption or load on other cloud users.

6. Investigation and Enforcement

6.1. If there is suspicion of legal violations, we reserve the right to contact authorities to investigate such violations. During and after an investigation, we may block access or remove content that violates this policy.

7. Changes

7.1. We may change the terms of this policy in accordance with legal obligations and will post an updated version on this website. That version will take effect immediately without specific notice.
